Ellis House

The lovely Ellis House is a holiday rental property in country Victoria, about an hour's drive from Melbourne. Country homes aren't usually my style, but there are a lot of elements I love about this one - the moody colour scheme, high ceilings, intricate details, chandeliers and especially the main bathroom in neutral shades with a gorgeous claw foot bathtub.

Magic rainbow umbrella

I just bought a lovely new umbrella from Oroton last week, but now I want this one from Clifton too.

It's pretty stylish with its black and white raindrop print, but even better when it gets wet.

A renovated Bondi terrace

I should be sleeping right now, but my cough is keeping me awake, so here's a lovely renovated terrace in Bondi belonging to Jodi and Brendan York, an architect and an accountant. I especially love the kitchen with its patterned tile splashback and the outdoor entertaining space.

My wedding reception dress

Harry suggested that I buy a second dress for our wedding reception, something I would be more comfortable dancing in than my wedding gown. Isn't he a sweetheart! As navy is the colour of his tie and my wedding shoes, I chose this dress from Tadashi Shoji's Fall 2012 collection.

I love it! The shape is sleek and sexy and very flattering. It's made from jersey with a mesh overlay, so it's also very comfortable. I bought mine from Myer.

New Muuto colours

New Muuto colours have just arrived at Scandinavian Design Center. I've already switched two items on our wedding registry for these two pendant lights.

I'd also love one of these in pink or light grey... form the base of a little storage display like this...

...or to build up to something more substantial like one of these.

Beautiful blooms

I had to share this image because this is the loveliest floral arrangement I have ever seen and perfect inspiration for my ivory and soft pink wedding colour scheme.  I'm hoping I can find similar flowers, but I will be restricted by what's in season in winter.

A peacoat for Winter

I just received the Lucy cape from Jigsaw as a birthday gift from my grandmother and my little sister.  It's super cute and perfect for Autumn.

Next on my wishlist is a peacoat.  I've been meaning to buy one for the last couple of Winters, but I haven't got around to it.  Any of these three lovelies from Marcs would do nicely... faux fur, graphic pattern, or bright and asymmetrical... and they're all currently $100 off.

Merci Registry

With less than five weeks to go, the wedding planning is mostly on track and I just had to share this lovely online wedding registry I found. It's called Merci Registry. It's super cute and you can choose your own images then link to any online store or set-up a checkout process via your PayPal account to pay for items that need to be purchased later (like honeymoon experiences) or for contributions to larger items.

It costs only $29.95 to set-up an account which lasts for 12 months and you receive a personalised URL of your choice. The only other fees are PayPal fees on items where you've chosen the PayPal checkout process rather than linking to an online store.

A sweet courtyard

I love this sweet unstructured courtyard - so relaxed and pretty.

It's my birthday

I have been absent from my blog for such a long time and am learning that planning a wedding takes a lot of time and effort. We sent our invitations a couple of days ago and there are only 5 weeks left until the big day, but today I have something else to celebrate - my birthday. So here's a bit of reminiscing about the past year.

A birthday present from my sister
A year ago today I celebrated my 30th birthday in Paris, with cake and champagne for breakfast, shopping at Chanel and fairy lights on the Eiffel Tower. It was a perfect day.

Aside from Paris and a trip to Tokyo a couple of months ago, the highlights of my year have been mostly physical accomplishments. I have never been very athletic and until recently my greatest sporting achievement was playing basketball for my school team in year 8, but in the past year I have successfully completed a 50km charity cycle, a 5km charity run (in a tutu and knee-high socks in the middle of summer) and a SuperSprint corporate triathlon.

My next goal is to complete the 90km Gong Ride for MS... I'll start training after the wedding.

My birthday this year has been nowhere near as glamorous. I spent the day at work, but I was very spoilt by my workmates and my sister who works nearby and now I'm waiting for Harry to get home to ice the cake he baked for me last night and my parents are taking us out to dinner. I love birthdays! Don't you?

In my 32nd year, I look most forward to marrying the man I love and then planning our 'White Christmas' honeymoon - Paris, we're coming back and New York, we look forward to meeting you soon.
